I decided to hydrate before writing this post. I've been on hiatus, really I still am, and I'm a bit out of practice. I didn't want to go into this willy nilly. Didn't wanna pull a hammy or something. The net result was that I dumped about a half gallon of lemonade on myself just now. Apparently I'm out of practice with imbibing as well. Something I never thought I'd be able to say.
Someone get me a scotch, I'm starving.
What's that? Oh, right, the comic.
The art for todays strip was done by the estimable, the eminent, the excellent Suiz Uzcategui, whose name is very hard to spell and who is also the artist for a spectacular webcomic called Nuclear Powered Toaster. If you aren't clicking over there right now, then there's probably something wrong with you.
But the art in this strip really is something, isn't it? Aside from being fantastic in its own right, it's exactly the kind of strip that we could not have hoped to do with any degree of dopeness back in the day of the CG avatar art. Suiz realized my absurd words with a deftness and sense of comedy that I couldn't have dreamed of a few months ago and produced what is now one of my favorite strips we've yet done.
When we first started this experiment of reaching out to talented cats to do guest art for us we were told it couldn't be done. We were dismissed. Mocked, even, just for mentioning it. Truly.
But what the fuckheads that said it couldn't be done didn't count on was that not everyone is as miserable and cynical as are they. What they didn't understand is that not everyone is out for themselves, not everyone is a disenfranchised cockbite. We are not all mercenaries. What they could not grasp is love.
I bring this up not only to praise the kindness and talent and generosity of the brilliant people who have shared their gifts with us, but to remind you all to never let anyone tell you that you can't do something. Fuck the haters. Fuck em with barbed wire.
We are only love.
And our capacity for greatness may well be limitless.
As for Wolfman, I doubt I'll see that movie but if someone were to make Cheez-it-man, I would jump at the chance to catch that flick. I'd watch that shit over and over. That probably says something about me but I'm not sure what.
Get a beverage of your choice and do not tease crackers, there could be consequences,
