Todays art was done by the bodacious and bootylicious Byron Wikins, who runs 1977 the Comic. And if his art isnt evidence enough that you should check it out, let me say this: Its kind of like That Seventies Show but with todays THC levels. Yeah, man. Yeah.
I also want to take a second to assuage my white guiltand potentially yours!by linking to The United Negro College Fund. Between the economic collapse and the fact that E stole a whole jar of pennies from a very small and very cute child, they could really use your donation. And if youre not convinced, I dare you to watch the classic commercial from the 80s. And yes, that is Courtney B. Vancelong time cast member of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
With that out of the way, I just want to say that I still love Quantum Leap. I dont think they make shows like that anymore. Well, thats not entirely true. A few years back, they essentially xeroxed Quantum Leap and called it Journeyman, but apparently nobody watched it, and it was quickly canceled. But maybe its demise proves the point to which Im taking my time to get. Reality TV like American Idol, procedurals like Bones, and serialized stories like LOST, dont have that same heroic nature to them. Every episode of Quantum Leap, Sam made the world a better place. He wasnt simply punitive; he didnt punish criminals for crimes that were already committed, as with many shows. He didnt avert potential disaster, as with many others. No, he proactively changed the bad things that had already happened. Thats brilliant! Thats absolutely brilliant. He brought about a finer world, and I think thats great.
