Many thanks to her, and many thanks to a couple of cats on the XKCD board, who helped me generate some phononyms, specifically aurumelectrum13 and avalose.

As someone else pointed out, Phononyms are becoming irrelevant as more people have QWERTY keyboards on their phones, and I just want to say that I find that a little bit sad. There’s something nice about phononyms, a temporary connection between words that didn’t exist before texting and won’t exist for much longer. If you wanted to write “I supposed, U proposed.” It would be “4 78776733, 8 78776733.” Call me crazy, but I think there’s some poetry to it’s similarity.
