I first started watching Law and Order when I was writing For Catherine. Back then, back in the day, A&E would show L&O from two AM to four AM and between school, playing Smash Bros. with T, girlfriends and the girls I cheated on my girlfriends with, I could only seem to find time to write from around two to four. As a result nearly all of FC was written while watching either Ben Stone or Hang-em-High McCoy send perps to the slammer.

They showed a lot of the earliest seasons back then and the courtroom scenes were so badly lit, were so bemusingly dark, that I half expected every bit of order to contain someone shrieking "I saw Lizzie Proctor speakin' with the devil!" Which led me to contrive, if only in my mind, Law and Order: Salem Witch Trials, in which Brisco (RIP) would hunt down witches and McCoy would see them hanged, as is his custom. Which, to this day, I think would make a pretty fan-fucking-tastic two hour special. Ripped from the headlines! Of 1692!

NBC brass seems to be comprised entirely of shitbags and mercenaries these days, But if anyone out there would like me to write up a treatment for that show, I'm totally down. I'll hire Conan to play John Proctor just to fuck with everyones heads.

On a complete side note, I just goodled "Lizzie Proctor" to make sure I had the spelling right and found that there is, actually, a Lizzie Proctor on Facebook. Looking at her default profile picture in the context of the Salem Witch Trials is hilarious. Actually, it's a little hilarious no matter what context you think of. At least to me.

So...yeah. That's a bit of my history with Law and Order. It doesn't have anything to do with todays strip, per se, but since I'm not entirely sure I've even read todays strip, it's the best I could do.

Get a beverage of your choice and try not to hang anyone, it's not very nice.
